Psychometric assessments are conducted using reliable and valid measures that evaluate an individual’s academic potential (Intelligence Quotient –IQ) and academic ability.
Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC-V)
Parramatta Psychology Clinic uses the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC-V) to evaluate a child between the ages of 6 to 16 years for cognitive functioning. The WISC-V evaluates a child’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses, assesses for and identifies giftedness, intellectual disabilities, learning disorders and the impact of brain injuries.

Wechsler Individual Achievement Test – Third Edition (WIAT-III)
Parramatta Psychology Clinic uses the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test – Third Edition (WIAT-III) to evaluate academic skills.
The WIAT-III identifies the academic strengths and weaknesses of an individual. The WIAT-III helps to inform parents/care takers regarding eligibility for educational placement and services. Information obtained from the WIAT-III assist in planning interventions specific to a child’s needs.
Educational tests measure academic skills such as:
• Listening Comprehension
• Oral Expression
• Early Reading Skills
• Reading Comprehension
• Oral Reading Fluency
• Alphabet Writing Fluency
• Spelling
• Written expression
• Maths Problem Solving

How do I get a Mental Health Care Plan?
Visit your GP and ask them for a referral to our clinic. Describe the issues and they’ll give you a referral to see us.
What happens if I don't want to see my GP?
If you don’t want to see a GP, you can visit us without a Medicare Care Plan. You can discuss fees when you call us.
How many sessions do I get by obtaining a Medicare Care Plan?
Medicare provides you with 6 sessions initially. In the event you need additional sessions, visit your GP and they can refer you back to us for more sessions.
